Introduction
Welcome to Saltroad. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our game.
We believe in transparency and respect for your privacy. This policy clearly states what information we collect and how we use it.
Important: no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your game data stays on your device. The only thing that ever leaves it is an anonymized crash report, sent only if the app crashes — see "Crash reporting" below.
Information we collect
Saltroad does not create accounts, run ads, or track players. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Personal identification information (names, email addresses, etc.)
- Advertising or tracking identifiers
- Location data
- Usage analytics or gameplay statistics
- Payment or financial information
- Any other data that could identify you
The game operates entirely offline and does not require an internet connection to function. All game data — your save files and progress — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us. The one exception is the anonymized crash report described below, which is sent only if the app crashes.
If you choose a custom sail-decal image, the app may ask for optional access to your photo library. That image is processed entirely on your device to build the decal and is never uploaded anywhere.
Crash reporting
Saltroad uses Sentry for crash reporting. If the app crashes, an anonymized crash report may be sent to help us fix the bug. That report can include the device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace of the crash.
It does not and cannot include your name, email address, account details, advertising identifiers, or location — none of these exist anywhere in the app. Crash reports are used solely to diagnose and fix bugs, and are retained for Sentry's standard window of roughly 90 days. Sentry is our data processor for this purpose; see Sentry's own privacy policy for how they handle it.
How we use information
Since we do not collect any personal information, there is none to use, share, or sell. The only data that ever leaves your device is the anonymized crash report above, and it is used solely to fix bugs.
Third-party services
Saltroad does not integrate with any advertising networks, analytics services, or data collection tools. The only third-party service the app uses is Sentry, for the anonymized crash reporting described above.
If you purchase the game through an app store (such as Apple App Store or Google Play Store), those platforms may collect information according to their own privacy policies. We do not have access to or control over such information.
Children's privacy
Saltroad is designed to be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages. We do not collect personal information from any users, including children, and we are fully compliant with children's privacy protections.
No personal data is collected from children under the age of 13 (or any other age). Crash reports, if ever sent, contain no information that could identify a player of any age.
Data security
Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is essentially no data to secure. Your game progress and save files are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us or any third party. The only data that leaves your device — an anonymized crash report, when the app crashes — is handled by Sentry under their own security practices.
Your rights
Since we do not collect any personal information, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. You have complete control over your local game data, which resides only on your device. The anonymized crash reports described above contain nothing that identifies you, so there is nothing in them to attribute to a specific player.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
If we ever begin collecting further data in the future, we will update this policy and notify users of such changes. Our current commitment is to keep data collection to the bare minimum needed to fix bugs — the anonymized crash reporting described above — and nothing more.
